Chapelfield's Birthday Celebrations Go Purple
Date Posted:24/06/2011
Chapelfield has been recognised in the prestigious Purple Apple Awards; for its innovative PR and media relations campaign to celebrate the 5th Birthday of the centre. The Chapelfield team received its award from actor and broadcaster Meera Syal MBE at a ceremony in London in May 2011.
With more than 90 shops and eateries and over 50 million visitors the five years since it opened, Chapelfield has played a significant part in cementing Norwich’s reputation as one of the UK’s top ten shopping destinations.
Sheridan Smith is Chapelfield’s Marketing Manager. “The birthday celebrations had to engage local media and communicate the positive impact that Chapelfield has had, not just on the city but the county too.”
Sheridan continues: “We worked very closely with the Evening News and the Eastern Daily Press to really tell the story of Chapelfield’s journey so far and its role in the community. The special birthday issue of the Evening News and the in-depth features that the EDP produced played a huge part in us achieving a Purple Apple merit. We’re hugely grateful for the support that we received from our colleagues at Archant.”
